The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role, located in Boca Raton, FL, for a rapidly growing P&C insurance business. This insurance carrier is part of a larger, privately owned warranty and vehicle protection organization that employs approximately 300 people across 34 separate entities, creating a complex accounting environment. This position offers the opportunity to join an established Finance and Accounting function, contributing significantly to a lean insurance-focused team and gaining broad exposure within a growing insurance carrier.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for the P&C insurance business.
• Execute: Prepare accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze: Assist with financial reporting and perform detailed account analysis.
• Resolve: Research and resolve any identified accounting discrepancies promptly.
• Support: Provide assistance with both internal and external audit requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• Experience: Previous accounting experience gained within insurance, financial services, public accounting, or another complex business environment.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Progress toward obtaining a CPA certification or a demonstrated interest in pursuing one is welcomed and supported.
