The Tone:
This is a future full-time, hybrid opportunity at Gusto, located in Denver, San Francisco, or New York City, with an expectation to work from the office 2-3 days per week. Gusto is a company on a mission to grow the small business economy by providing payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR solutions. This role is vital because it involves owning the customer experience from the first conversation through successful adoption of Gusto’s services. Individuals in this position will make a direct impact on how small business customers experience Gusto from day one.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inquire: Manage high-volume inbound calls, chats, and emails from customers or partners at various stages of their journey.
• Advise: Guide small businesses and accounting partners in selecting the appropriate Gusto solutions for their needs.
• Onboard: Support customers through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and successful start with Gusto.
• Sell: Apply strong product knowledge and ethical, customer-first selling principles in all interactions.
• Document: Maintain accurate notes and pipeline details in Salesforce to ensure excellent customer follow-through.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-career sales or customer service professional focused on helping small businesses succeed.
• Experience: 1–3 years in a sales or customer service role, with experience in high-volume environments including inbound and outbound calling. Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding goals and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Skills: Consultative and solution-oriented selling, problem-solving, strong product knowledge, ethical selling, and proficiency with CRM systems like Salesforce.
