Fixed Asset Accountant | Lightera
The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time role at Lightera, located in Norcross, GA, requiring on-site attendance a minimum of two days/week. The Fixed Asset Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate financial reporting, compliance, and tracking of the company’s fixed assets, directly supporting Lightera’s mission to build brighter, more connected communities and create value for shareholders, customers, and employees through exceptional service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Asset Lifecycle Management: Process and record all corporate fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, transfers, impairments, and disposals, ensuring accurate financial records throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Capital Expense Oversight: Review operational purchase orders and invoices to meticulously determine whether expenditures should be appropriately expensed or capitalized according to accounting principles.
• Physical Inventories: Plan, execute, and reconcile periodic physical audits of plant equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure the accuracy and existence of assets.
• General Ledger Reconciliation: Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger for Global Lightera LLC and prepare comprehensive monthly roll-forward schedules to maintain financial integrity.
• Annual Audit & Risk Management: Prepare detailed fixed asset and depreciation schedules essential for both internal and external auditors, supporting compliance and risk management efforts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this role.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or management is essential.
• Skills: Accounting systems knowledge, with a preference for SAP and JDE; advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel; effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain discretion with confidential and proprietary information.
• Bonus: A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is preferred; a manufacturing background is preferred.
