What You’ll Actually Do
• License Acquisition: Dedicate time to study for and successfully obtain essential Securities Industry licenses, including the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 Exams, forming the foundational qualification for an advisor.
• Skill Development: Participate in comprehensive training to develop foundational advisor skills, encompassing strategies for acquiring, building, and managing client relationships, along with the ability to analyze complex financial pictures.
• Client Guidance: Provide guidance to clients by applying learned advice and solutions to help them live their best financial lives, while also delivering Bank of America’s core banking and investment services within a financial center.
• Portfolio Building: Progress into the role of a Merrill Financial Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor (ADP FA), where you will actively practice learned skills to begin building a new portfolio of affluent and high net worth clients.
• Career Progression: Systematically advance through the various stages of the Advisor Development Program, with ongoing support from The Academy, with the ultimate professional aim of becoming a core Merrill Financial Advisor.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level; foundational understanding of financial services or sales principles through education or relevant experience.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of financial services industry or sales experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Skills:
1. Confidence in a sales role.
2. Ability to build strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
3. Proactive mindset, effective time management, and a results-driven approach.
4. Aptitude for identifying appropriate client solutions, prioritizing client interests, and applying new information.
5. Understanding and application of relevant regulatory due diligence in financial activities and strategy creation.
• Bonus: Learns and adapts to new technology or applications; Executes multiple tasks simultaneously.
