Deal and Order Management Systems Lead- Private Markets Investment Technology | Neuberger Berman
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neuberger Berman, located in New York, USA. Neuberger’s Private Markets group is seeking a leader to architect and deliver an Investment Book of Record (IBOR) and Order Management System (OMS) across private equity, private debt, secondaries, co-investments, and capital solutions strategies. This role is critical for creating a real-time, consolidated view of positions, transactions, and orders within a complex, multi-administrator, multi-jurisdiction environment. The successful candidate will navigate the unique challenges of private markets data, which is operationally driven, non-standard, and fundamentally different from public markets feeds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead the evaluation of IBOR/OMS approaches, including vendor platforms, build options, or hybrid models, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
• Define the target-state architecture for a consolidated, real-time IBOR, ensuring a single view of positions and transactions across all private markets strategies.
• Partner with stakeholders to establish functional requirements for the OMS, trade blotter, standardized order messaging, and automated confirmations.
• Design and oversee critical integrations with fund administrators, custodians, accounting systems, and downstream reporting and analytics platforms.
• Translate complex private markets workflows, such as capital calls, distributions, and bespoke deal structures, into platform requirements and operational procedures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, demonstrating senior-level investment technology leadership.
• Experience: 10+ years in investment technology with direct, hands-on experience implementing or operating an IBOR, OMS, or comparable platform, including at least one full implementation lifecycle.
• Skills: Deep functional understanding of IBOR concepts like position keeping and transaction lifecycle, working knowledge of transaction messaging standards (e.g., SWIFT, FIX), strong vendor management, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured plans.
• Bonus: Direct private markets experience and hands-on experience with AI and AI-assisted development, including LLM-based tools, are beneficial.
