What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare Journal Entries: Take responsibility for preparing and accurately posting journal entries to guarantee that all financial transactions are recorded precisely and on schedule, contributing to timely financial reporting.
• Reconcile General Ledger: Maintain and meticulously reconcile general ledger accounts on an ongoing basis, proactively investigating any identified discrepancies and efficiently resolving issues as they arise to ensure data integrity.
• Assist Closing Activities: Provide vital support for both month-end and year-end closing activities, which includes organizing essential financial data and assisting with detailed account analysis to facilitate a smooth close process.
• Review Accounting Records: Conduct thorough reviews of accounting records to confirm completeness and accuracy, while actively helping to uphold and reinforce internal documentation standards across all financial processes.
• Process Financial Activity: Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, alongside other relevant accounting tools, to efficiently process routine financial activity and generate comprehensive supporting reports as required for analysis and oversight.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, ensuring accurate data is available for reconciliations, various reporting needs, and the smooth execution of daily accounting tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, which provides a solid academic foundation crucial for effectively performing the duties of an early-career accounting professional.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience gained in an accounting role, demonstrating practical, hands-on experience in preparing journal entries and working proficiently within various accounting systems.
• Skills: Exhibit a practical understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes; demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and documentation; strong attention to detail; and the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
• Bonus: Experience working with specific accounting software such as QuickBooks is preferred, indicating a valuable familiarity with key industry tools.
