Intern, Global Accounting – Corporate Consolidations | Constellation Brands

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Constellation Brands, located in Rochester, New York, operating in a hybrid work environment. This role is within the Global Accounting function, providing essential support for various assignments. The intern will gain exposure to diverse aspects of accounting through structured project work and involvement in the critical month-end close process. This position offers a valuable opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting, develop professional accounting skills, and contribute directly to the financial operations of the organization.

• Mission: This person will manage various assignments in support of Global Accounting, assisting with month-end close and project work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entry Preparation: Draft journal entries in SAP and OneStream, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is included for review.
• Intercompany Transactions: Analyze intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and assist in preparing appropriate journal entries for consolidation.
• Reconciliations: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring all balances are substantiated.
• Financial Statement Analysis: Analyze monthly financial reporting, comparing historical and current month activity to provide clear and concise flux explanations.
• Project Support: Provide support to the Global Accounting team on various ad-hoc projects, contributing to team initiatives and special assignments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in an Accounting or Finance Bachelor or Graduate degree program, with a solid understanding of basic accounting and finance concepts, including U.S. GAAP.
• Experience: Maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; demonstrates strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities; possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills; and exhibits strong interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Preferably be entering your senior year if applying from an undergraduate degree program.
