Finance Intern | Etched
The Tone:
This is an internship at Etched, located in San Jose, CA. Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence, co-designing chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency for inference workloads. This role is crucial for tackling strategic financial challenges and executing day-to-day finance operations as the company scales. The intern will gain hands-on experience and contribute to the financial foundations of a company redefining infrastructure for the AI industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Drive financial models to support company growth and decision-making.
• Operational Support: Assist with purchase orders and accounts payable to maintain financial flow.
• Strategic Insight: Learn about key strategic issues across the organization, covering supply chain to product development.
• Practical Application: Gain hands-on experience across FP&A, accounting operations, vendor payments, and pricing/unit economics modeling.
• Problem Solving: Tackle strategic financial challenges, including deciding pricing, SKUs, and unit economics, as well as accounting and financing strategies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
• Experience: Previous internship experience in consulting, banking, or early startup environments.
• Skills: Excellent project management and data analysis skills; willingness to do a broad set of finance, accounting, and operations work; comfort with Excel/Sheets or basic financial modeling.
• Bonus: Technical curiosity, including experience, education, or interest in computer science, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related field; deep curiosity about the AI ecosystem, including emerging trends, cutting-edge technologies, and industry innovations; interest in startup finance, including equity, cap tables, and fundraising.
