Operations Leadership Trainee | Kronospan

The Tone:
This is a full-time, intensive Operations Leadership Trainee program at Kronospan, situated at various facilities across the United States. Kronospan stands as the world’s foremost producer of essential wood panel products, including MDF, OSB, Particleboard, and Laminate Flooring, operating with state-of-the-art, automated, and environmentally sustainable practices. This pivotal role is designed to develop future operational leaders, equipping them with a blend of critical management and technical skills essential for driving significant improvements. Trainees will directly contribute to enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and refining operational processes, all while preparing for a key leadership position within our global organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Management Skills: Acquire a comprehensive set of management skills, encompassing effective leadership techniques, crucial teambuilding strategies, and polished interpersonal communication abilities.
• Master Technical Processes: Gain in-depth technical skills related to advanced production management controls, understanding core operational processes, and interpreting key performance metrics.
• Lead Improvement Projects: Actively contribute to the organization through involvement in various projects specifically designed to improve overall production output, effectively reduce waste materials, and refine existing operational processes.
• Complete Rotational Assignments: Participate in an intensive, approximately 12-month program that includes strategic rotations through diverse operational roles and departments within an assigned Kronospan facility.
• Prepare for Leadership: Successfully complete the program with the expectation of being fully prepared to assume a significant leadership role within the Kronospan organization upon graduation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree, signifying an entry-level career stage. Preferred academic majors include Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or other closely related fields relevant to industrial operations.
• Experience: An entry-level professional demonstrating a strong and genuine desire to thoroughly learn the complexities of the manufacturing process, develop robust leadership capabilities, and show a clear aspiration to progress within the Kronospan organization. An excellent attendance record is also required.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities. Possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong analytical capabilities. Demonstrate proficiency in essential computer software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Furthermore, must be a team player capable of working and interacting effectively with associates and departments throughout the organization.
• Bonus: Capability to prioritize various work activities, assignments, and demands while maintaining flexibility to adapt to change. Possess a demonstrated excellent work ethic, strong time management skills, and organizational abilities. Must be available to work flexible hours, potentially including rotating shifts, nights, and/or weekends, based on the needs of the business.
