CAAS Staff Accountant | Ascend

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Financial Management: Prepare and maintain client financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, while documenting client-specific processes.
• Advisory Support: Support controllership and CFO-level engagements with accurate data, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects.
• Technology Optimization: Utilize cloud-based accounting platforms and workflow tools to deliver efficient client service, and assist with implementing and optimizing technology solutions for clients.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and client efficiency, contributing to the continuous enhancement of workflows.
• Professional Development: Collaborate with team members across service lines, take ownership of tasks, and pursue expanded responsibilities through training and continuous learning.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. This is an early career position.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience, with a preference for public accounting, outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, or finance environments, including month-end close, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Skills: Intellectual curiosity with an eagerness to embrace new processes, effective documentation and communication of complex information, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, public accounting experience, and proficiency with QuickBooks, Odoo, or SAGE.
