Launch Program (AEU) – Mobile, AL | Amwins

The Tone:
This is a full-time, early career opportunity within Amwins, commencing with an intensive 9-week training program in Charlotte, NC, followed by a permanent relocation to Mobile, AL. Amwins Underwriting is a prominent specialist in insurance, encompassing 20 operating companies and over 100 programs that provide niche underwriting expertise and creative solutions across property, casualty, and professional lines. The American Equity Underwriters (AEU), a key Amwins entity, is dedicated to helping maritime employers protect their workers and businesses, drawing on over 25 years of experience to offer innovative claims, loss control, and underwriting services that empower its members. The L.A.U.N.C.H. (Leadership, Aptitude, Underwriting Principles, Networking, Culture, Hands on) Program is specifically designed to immerse participants in deep knowledge of the insurance industry, Amwins’ underwriting practices, and organizational culture. This program focuses on developing essential professional skills, offering substantial networking opportunities with leadership, and serving as a foundational step for highly motivated individuals aspiring to excel in an underwriting career at AEU.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Gather comprehensive account information to assist lead underwriters in the process of rating, quoting, and binding policies efficiently.
• Maintain: Accurately maintain and manage all necessary account documentation and files.
• Communicate: Engage with clients and internal departments to gather essential information, provide timely updates, and resolve issues and inquiries effectively.
• Monitor: Regularly review various reports to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
• Administer: Provide general administrative support, including inputting account information into the system and performing other related services.
• Travel: Undertake travel as needed for additional training or other job-related requirements, typically no more than two times a year.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional holding a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience: Less than two years of professional experience, coupled with demonstrated leadership skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Skills: A strong interest and passion for the insurance industry and underwriting practices, highly motivated with proven problem-solving abilities, and capable of working in an office environment in the specified location.
• Bonus: A degree in Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) is preferred.
