Senior Program Manager – Private Markets Technology | Neuberger Berman

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neuberger Berman, located in New York City. Neuberger Berman’s Private Markets business is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead technology transformation across its platform. This high-visibility role is critical for driving change across the investment/deal lifecycle, the client lifecycle, and the operational environments that support the business. It requires translating strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps and ensuring rigorous delivery discipline.

• Team: Reports to Private Markets Technology leadership, partners closely with the Office of the COO.
• Mission: Own and deliver large-scale, cross-functional technology transformation programs for the Private Markets business.
• Tech Stack: Jira, MS Project, or equivalent

What You’ll Actually Do
• Delivery: Own end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional technology programs spanning data platform, operating-model, and application initiatives.
• Management: Manage program scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, and risk across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Governance: Establish governance structures, such as steering committees and working groups, and run the cadence for status, decisions, and escalation.
• Communication: Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs to Executive Steering committee audiences.
• Budgeting: Build and manage program budgets (capex/opex), track spend against plan, and manage vendor SOWs and commercials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field; Senior career level in leading complex technology and business transformation.
• Experience: 15+ years leading large-scale technology and business transformation programs in asset management or financial services; demonstrated delivery of complex, multi-year platform or transformation programs at enterprise scale in Private Markets or Asset Management.
• Skills: Enterprise program management expertise; financial and commercial acumen; private markets domain fluency; executive presence to influence and align senior stakeholders; deep command of program/project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and tooling; proven ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization; demonstrated fluency with AI tools and experience overseeing delivery of AI-enabled initiatives.
• Bonus: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (SAFe, Scrum Master) certification; private markets experience; domain exposure to relevant systems (fund accounting, portfolio monitoring, OMS/IBOR, data platforms).
