What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries accurately and timely.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Financial Close Support: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities to ensure timely reporting.
• Reporting & Audit Prep: Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for financial reporting and external audit requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify and support opportunities to improve accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, coupled with a fundamental understanding of general ledger accounting principles and financial statement relationships.
• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, specifically including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA certification, experience with SAP or another enterprise ERP system, experience in distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing, and knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.
