Operations & Finance Leadership Program (January 2027 Start) | Castleton Commodities International

The Tone:
This is a rotational leadership program at Castleton Commodities International, based out of Stamford, CT and Houston, TX. Castleton Commodities International is a leading global energy commodities merchant and infrastructure asset investor, with over 500 employees worldwide. This program aims to identify and cultivate the next generation of leaders across the company’s Operations, Finance, and potentially commercial businesses, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of global market opportunities and strategic initiatives.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
Gain diverse functional exposure: Participate in four distinct six-month rotations designed to provide broad exposure to critical support functions, including settlements, trading operations, treasury, credit, tax, enterprise improvement, and product control. This structure ensures a well-rounded understanding of the company’s operational backbone.
Contribute to strategic projects: Actively work on special projects centered around strategic initiatives and overall organizational strategy, directly contributing to the company’s forward-thinking approach and long-term goals.
Collaborate with leadership: Engage in regular interactions with leaders from Operations, Finance, and the commercial businesses, allowing participants to gain deep insights into various global market opportunities and the strategic thinking behind the company’s approach.
Receive comprehensive training: Benefit from structured training programs specifically designed to provide a well-rounded understanding of the energy commodities industry, alongside critical leadership and technical skills necessary for future success.
Transition into a permanent role: Have the unique opportunity throughout the two-year program to accept an offer of employment from any group within the organization, upon which the rotational phase would conclude, transitioning into a permanent position.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level professional currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Physics, or a closely related field of study. Candidates must have an expected graduation date of Spring 2026 or December 2026 to be eligible for this January 2027 start program.
• Experience: Demonstrated excellent analytical and technical proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel. Experience with database management is also considered a plus, providing an added advantage.
• Skills: Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction across teams and with leadership. Candidates must also exhibit excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the proven ability to multitask efficiently, alongside a desire to make a difference and be forward-thinking. The ability to work as an effective team player and consistently add value to collaborative efforts is also crucial.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience or general exposure to the commodities markets is highly preferred. Additionally, experience gained through other financial institutions or consulting roles would be a valuable asset to this program.
