The company produces pet food, and this role directly supports plant operations by providing crucial inventory and production reconciliation and reporting. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, processing vendor payments efficiently, and ensuring timely, precise information for plant management.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Reconciliation: Reconcile production and inventory reports by generating data, comparing to shop floor documents, and analyzing discrepancies to resolve variances.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices by matching them to receiving reports and purchase orders, verifying proper account coding, and initiating timely payments.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and distribute various reports and cost estimates with accuracy and timeliness, communicating insights to the management team.
• Cross-Training: Cross-train with other accounting employees to ensure continuous day-to-day functional support and maintain operational consistency.
• Accrual Management: Identify and estimate financial accruals, communicate costs to the supervisor, and determine the taxability of items for accurate coding.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School Diploma or equivalent with a basic understanding of math and accounting principles.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting, clerical, or administrative experience, with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Skills: Accurate data entry skills, strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and effective verbal/written communication.
• Bonus: Some college, especially accounting classes; experience with ERP systems; preference for food processing or manufacturing organization; military experience.
