Job Description

Renewables & Flexible Power Graduate Rotation Program – Hedging & Risk | ENGIE North America Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time graduate rotation program at ENGIE North America Inc., located in Houston, TX with international assignments. ENGIE’s Renewables & Flexible Power Global Business Unit (R&F – GBU) is a key driver in the company’s transition toward clean, resilient energy systems, managing over 100 GW of installed capacity globally. This program is designed to develop future talents and project drivers who will contribute to ENGIE’s global strategy, particularly in hedging and risk management for renewable energy and battery storage projects. You will play a meaningful role in supporting ENGIE’s ambition to reach 95 GW of Renewables & BESS capacity by 2030.

• Mission: Map, mitigate, and implement solutions for operating and development risks while optimizing revenues for Renewables and Battery Storage projects.
• Tech Stack: Python, SQL, VBA

What You’ll Actually Do
• Map Risks: Work alongside the Hedging & Risk team to map operating and development risks associated with renewable energy and battery storage projects.
• Mitigate Risks: Determine effective strategies to mitigate identified risks and implement the proposed solutions.
• Monitor Markets: Continuously monitor various power markets to understand trends and inform commercial decisions.
• Optimize Revenues: Benchmark trading performance and identify specific opportunities to optimize revenues for Renewables and Battery Storage projects.
• Complete Rotation: Engage in a 24-month structured program, including a 9-12 month local immersion, a 6-month international assignment, and a 9-month local consolidation mission.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, finance, engineering, economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience: Interest in the energy industry, with a particular focus on trends in power markets, and the growth of renewable energy and battery storage.
• Skills: Analytical ability to synthesize complex data, identify key trends and risks, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations; knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA to automate workflows and analyze large datasets; exceptional planning and organizational skills to manage complex analytical projects and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bonus: Willingness and commitment for international mobility during and after the program, and availability to travel domestically and internationally with a valid passport.
