Early Career Intern – Accounting | Invesco

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 9-week summer internship at Invesco, located in an Invesco office. Invesco is a global independent investment firm dedicated to rethinking possibilities for clients by delivering diverse investment strategies and vehicles. This role offers driven students the opportunity to contribute to critical accounting and reporting functions, shaping financial processes and reporting standards within a global finance organization.

• Mission: To support critical accounting and reporting functions across North America and EMEA, ensuring compliance, contributing to financial reporting standards, and driving process improvements.
• Tech Stack: General ledger applications, Microsoft Excel advanced functionalities, Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, automation tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Expense & AR Management: Manage accounting for North America and EMEA expenses, including monitoring daily share transactions, preparing wire transfers, supporting monthly expense reimbursements, and tracking Accounts Receivable processes.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly journal entries and perform comprehensive monthly and quarterly account analysis utilizing general ledger applications.
• Compliance & Disclosure: Contribute to public company SEC reporting and compliance by assisting with the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), quarterly disclosure committee materials, and SOX controls.
• Audit & Process Improvement: Facilitate internal and external audits, compile data for business partners to review accruals during month-end and quarter-end close, respond to ad hoc requests, and participate in leadership meetings to enhance financial processes.
• Technology Adoption: Support the evaluation, testing, and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, identifying process improvement opportunities, assisting with the development and validation of AI agents and automation tools, and analyzing outcomes for effectiveness and accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, graduating by summer of 2028, with a required major in accounting and general knowledge of accounting principles gained through coursework. Must be able to work in an Invesco office where the program is available and authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are required for this early career intern role. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel advanced functionalities is a preferred qualification for the position.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a team-oriented approach with reliability and follow-through.
