2027 CAE, Winter Audit Planning & Reporting Analyst | Royal Bank of Canada

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 4-month long internship at Royal Bank of Canada, located in Toronto, Canada. Internal Audit at RBC works to review the behind-the-scenes operations of all lines of business across the bank. This position offers an ideal environment for individuals interested in understanding how a major financial institution operates, who are curious about digging deep into data to discover new things, and who enjoy using their imagination to make recommendations or drive insights. • Mission: Provide general support to the centralized TOPR team within Internal Audit by assisting with reporting, research, and efficiency initiatives across the department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting Support: Provide general support to the centralized TOPR team within Internal Audit.
• Visualizations & Commentary: Assist with Audit Committee reporting, creating insightful commentary and impactful visualizations.
• Industry Research: Research various industry and emerging topics for use in reporting.
• Agile Support: Train as a Scrum Master to support the Agile approach.
• Initiative Coordination: Act as a liaison on complex, multi-faceted initiatives across the department, including efforts to improve efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level student currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, CFA, or another related field. To be eligible, applicants must either be returning to school after the work term ends or require the full work term as a mandatory component to successfully graduate.
• Experience: Not specified.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment, coupled with strong personal skills. Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills are essential. Possess good analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Must be highly organized with good attention to detail and a very high level of accuracy. The ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines is required, along with critical thinking and an “outside the box” approach to thrive in a changing environment.
• Bonus: Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Products, including Excel for financial analysis, Word, and PowerPoint. Previous experience working with a Financial Institution is also considered an asset.
