• Team: The role supports the Department Head within the centralized Credit Management (CM) function, collaborating with GCIB Coverage, Sector Coverage, AIBD, and APAC teams.
• Mission: This person owns the credit process in Hong Kong, supporting origination and ongoing monitoring to ensure high-quality credit analysis and identify emerging risks post-origination.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Credit Operations: Assist the Department Head in day-to-day credit management processes, proactively identifying emerging risks, themes, and opportunities to drive better risk and return outcomes for the Bank.
• Guide Portfolio Construction: Help build the portfolio to ensure the Bank engages with appropriate clients and sectors, consistent with risk appetite and credit strategy.
• Enhance Operating Model: Partner with GCIB and global delivery teams to develop and execute a long-term plan that enhances the cross-location operating model, strengthens collaboration, and improves credit process outcomes.
• Manage Risk and Capital: Support Coverage through risk management activities, identify emerging risks and opportunities with P&L and credit cost KPIs, and manage regional RWA/capital initiatives impacting counterparty booking and risk grading.
• Cultivate Relationships and Leadership: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region, including Portfolio and Coverage team members and credit offices, while demonstrating leadership through guidance and mentorship of team members.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, law, or related disciplines, with a focus on corporate and institutional lending and credit risk management.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate and institutional lending, with solid experience in credit analysis and/or credit risk management functions within reputable financial institutions, including strong credit analysis experience in corporate finance transactions and proven leadership and people management.
• Skills: Strong credit writing, financial analysis and modelling, legal documentation, and debt structuring skills; solid financial knowledge and analysis acumen; good understanding of financial and economic markets; excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Bonus: Masters of Finance, MBA or CFA qualification; experience in structured lending.
