What You’ll Actually Do
• Education: Study for and pass an exam or designation relevant to your job function, such as a course offered through The Institutes, during the program.
• Collaboration: Work with fellow Associates on a group project focused on emerging technologies, internal initiatives, or process improvement.
• Training: Participate in home office visits to New York City, engaging in hands-on training, management discussions with senior leadership, and team-building social events.
• Learning: Gain a holistic understanding of Starr’s operations by hearing from professionals in key insurance areas like claims, credit, actuarial science, underwriting, and reinsurance.
• Contribution: Work within one of Starr’s various departments, actively learning the business while contributing to your assigned team’s objectives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A completed undergraduate degree is required before the program begins in June 2026, for recent graduates or early-career professionals with little to no industry experience.
• Experience: Relevant internship or work experience during college years is preferred.
• Skills: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; analytical thinking and problem-solving; intermediate Microsoft Office Suite proficiency; effective task management and prioritization.
• Bonus: Risk Management/Insurance and Business majors preferred; a proactive and collaborative mindset; a self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for learning and growth; demonstrated leadership potential.
