Financial Reporting Senior Analyst | Millennium

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Millennium, located in New York, NY. Millennium is actively growing its new private credit business, requiring specialized financial reporting expertise. This role is critical for evaluating complex accounting and financial reporting matters for new investments, transactions, and acquisitions. The analyst will ensure optimal structuring and accurate accounting treatment for these initiatives as a trusted business partner.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Transactions: Review and interpret complex investment transactions, including thorough reviews of legal documents, to identify technical accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Guide Accounting Treatment: Provide expert guidance on accounting treatment for the firm’s private credit activities, strategic transactions, and business development initiatives.
• Collaborate on Deals: Actively participate in internal and external deal discussions to ensure transactions are optimally structured and accounted for.
• Document & Engage: Document robust technical accounting analyses and engage directly with external advisors and auditors to formalize conclusions.
• Prepare Reports: Prepare and/or review internal reporting materials, U.S. GAAP financial statements, and footnote disclosures for the private credit business, while also supporting broader financial reporting efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: CPA (or equivalent) required. Senior-level professional with a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP technical accounting matters, specifically for investment companies under ASC 946.
• Experience: 6+ years of experience working in an audit/accounting/financial services role at a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or in industry at a private credit fund.
• Skills: Deep U.S. GAAP technical accounting knowledge, particularly ASC 946 and credit-related investment products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts clearly. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and accountability for work. Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines in a demanding environment. Proactive and confident in engaging with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Bonus: Experience encompassing both Big 4 public accounting and a private credit fund. Proficiency with other financial reporting systems, Alteryx, and AI tools.
