What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Development: Spend approximately 60-70% of your time focused on outside business development, active prospecting, self-sourcing business opportunities, and building a book of business from the ground up.
• Client Management: Develop, grow, and manage new and existing business client relationships.
• Advisory Role: Deliver financial expertise and client-focused solutions that create long-term, trusted relationships, assessing client needs and providing tailored recommendations.
• Portfolio Oversight: Proactively manage an assigned portfolio by maintaining strong credit quality, overseeing renewals, annual reviews, and ongoing client needs, and obtaining credit approval within assigned lending limits.
• Cross-functional Partnership: Partner with Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Business Banking Credit Card, and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions, making referrals to additional business lines as appropriate.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, with core domain knowledge in sales, relationship management, and financial acumen for business banking.
• Experience: Five to seven years of relevant experience, including prospecting companies with annual revenues greater than $10 million, managing complex credit structures and loan requests larger than $2.5 million, and working with businesses generating up to $25 million in annual revenue.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of commercial credit, credit quality, and portfolio management. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship management skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business lines and partner groups. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.
• Bonus: Established Centers of Influence network or demonstrated success building one. Experience working with SBA 7(a) and 504 lending programs. Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending experience. Developer & Investor Commercial Real Estate experience.
