The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at VB Spine, located in Leesburg, VA. VB Spine is the largest privately held spine company and among the largest family-owned medical technology companies in the world, dedicated to innovation, surgeon partnerships, and improving patient outcomes in spine care. As a Staff Accountant in the Finance function within the Spine division, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis, and support for monthly consolidations, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. Your work directly supports strategic decision-making and the company’s mission to advance spine care.

• Mission: Deliver accurate financial reporting, analysis, and support for monthly consolidations, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Consolidate Financial Results: Serve as the primary contact for the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of Spine financial results.
• Prepare Management Reports: Prepare and analyze monthly management reporting for Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements.
• Manage Accounting Operations: Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct detailed financial analysis.
• Ensure Compliance: Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and external financial statement audits, and prepare Federal, State, and other tax packages and filings.
• Drive Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement initiatives for journals, reconciliations, and reporting processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Experience: 2–3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including designing, building, and maintaining complex files; solid understanding of accounting principles and their application; ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues using independent judgment; excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Bonus: Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financials; CPA (or working toward designation).
