Manager, Accounting | Wonder
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wonder, located in New York, NY with a hybrid work model. Wonder operates a mealtime platform built to feed every craving in one order, offering a mix-and-match selection from hundreds of dishes across over 20 exclusive restaurants. The company owns and operates every step of the dining experience, from recipe development to technology, ensuring quality, variety, and consistency at scale. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records across the general ledger and balance sheet, supporting reliable and efficient accounting operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Management: Execute assigned components of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Reconciliation & Accuracy: Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation.
• Compliance & Controls: Adhere to internal control requirements and company accounting policies, ensuring documentation is complete.
• GAAP Application: Apply U.S. GAAP to routine and non-routine accounting transactions, documenting conclusions where needed.
• Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audit requests by preparing and providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance, with an active CPA license, and expertise in operational accounting.
• Experience: 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining a foundation in a top-tier national public accounting firm with relevant industry experience.
• Skills: Strong understanding and application of GAAP, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Netsuite, and Floqast, and strong balance sheet reconciliation and close management experience.
• Bonus: Experience working with large datasets; coding and/or SQL skills are highly preferred.
