Upstate New York Spring 2027 & Summer 2027 Accounting Internship | The Bonadio Group

The Tone:
This is a seasonal / part-time internship at The Bonadio Group, located in various Upstate New York offices. The Bonadio Group is a public accounting firm dedicated to launching careers through meaningful work and direct professional collaboration. This role is crucial for students eager to gain hands-on accounting experience, contribute to real client engagements, and build a foundation in public accounting.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $22 hourly
• Team: Working within a team of Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, Managers, Principals, and Partners
• Mission: Contribute to real client engagements and gain firsthand exposure to the challenges and rewards of public accounting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare individual, small business, and corporate tax returns for a diverse client base.
• Financial Support: Assist with bookkeeping, accounting functions, and financial statement compilations and reviews.
• Research & Analysis: Support tax research, planning projects, and technical accounting standards updates.
• Engagement Participation: Participate in various client engagements, including year-end audits, Form 990 preparation, and Employee Benefit Plan engagements.
• Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with experienced professionals to develop technical skills and understand client service delivery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s in accounting program with coursework supporting CPA eligibility; Entry-Level career experience.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
