Accounting Analyst | The Pittsburgh Paints Company

The Tone:
This is a hybrid position for an Accounting Analyst at The Pittsburgh Paints Company, located in Cranberry Twp, PA. The Pittsburgh Paints Company operates a network of retail stores across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, requiring diligent financial oversight. This role is integral to the retail store operations, focusing on managing a substantial volume of transactions and ensuring financial accuracy across the company’s diverse retail footprint. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting efficient store operations.

• Mission: Owns the accuracy of financial transactions and bank reconciliations for retail store operations across the US, PR, and CA.
• Tech Stack: Excel, SAP, T-Recs, ARCS

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Reconciliation: Manage point of sale (POS) data, reconcile it to bank funding, and perform associated matching within T-Recs or ARCS databases to ensure accuracy.
• Financial Reporting: Develop and post accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries in SAP to properly state bank balances and transactions for retail stores.
• Issue Resolution: Resolve store manager inquiries regarding cash procedures and issues, and investigate and journal non-sufficient funding activity.
• Accounting Processes: Oversee the miscellaneous check deposit process and the joint check processes for retail operations.
• General Ledger Analysis: Compile weekly Accounts Receivable adjustment data for accuracy and approval, post it to the general ledger, and reconcile and analyze open items for key general ledger accounts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. This is an early career role.
• Experience: 2-3 years of accounting or related experience, including experience using Excel and SAP.
• Skills: Very strong analytical and organizational skills, familiarity working with large amounts of data, and the ability to solve problems.
