Spring 2027 Tax Intern | Cerity Partners

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Cerity Partners, a nationally recognized registered investment advisory. The role provides college students with a hands-on, career-related experience in the financial industry. It is designed to enhance formal education and is ideal for someone seeking a seasonal position within a collaborative and supportive work environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time, Seasonal (25-30 hours per week January to Mid-April)
• Location: In-person

• Team: Tax team, reporting to Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators
• Mission: Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns and support tax advisors in maintaining accurate workflow statuses.
• Tech Stack: UltraTax CS, Engagement Manager, SurePrep, FirmFlow, GoFileRoom, Microsoft Office, Adobe Applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns using UltraTax CS software.
• Workpaper Creation: Generate workpapers in Engagement Manager and SurePrep that effectively document the preparation process of projects.
• Workflow Management: Utilize FirmFlow and GoFileRoom to maintain an accurate status of tax preparation workflows.
• Tax Research: Research and analyze a wide range of tax-related issues as needed.
• Administrative Support: Fulfill other duties as requested by Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university with a minimum 3.2 GPA, majoring in Finance, Accounting, or a related business degree.
• Experience: Active participation in campus organizations, preferably in a leadership role, and/or professional work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications; strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills; keen, consistent attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality.
