The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Tricension, located in Kansas City. Tricension is a technology consulting and software development company with over 15 years of experience, specializing in custom application development, cloud solutions, and AI integration for various industries. This role is crucial for an early-career accountant seeking broad exposure to the full accounting function, contributing to accurate financial records and supporting an active accounting system conversion. The position is a hands-on opportunity to grow into ownership of complete accounting processes.

• Mission: Support full-cycle accounting across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
• Tech Stack: QuickBooks, ERPNext, Microsoft Office, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable: Oversee customer invoicing, payment application, and collections activities to manage the AR aging and resolve disputes.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, prepare payment runs, maintain vendor master data, and reconcile vendor statements.
• General Ledger: Prepare and post recurring, standard, and adjusting journal entries, including accruals and deferred revenue, with full supporting documentation.
• Month-End Close: Complete assigned close tasks on schedule, perform critical reviews of account activity, and reconcile balance sheet accounts accurately.
• System Conversion: Support the accounting system conversion from QuickBooks to ERPNext, contributing to data validation, testing, and documentation of new workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and double-entry accounting.
• Experience: Approximately 1–2 years of accounting experience, including hands-on accounts receivable experience (invoicing, payments, collections).
• Skills: Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, resourcefulness, initiative, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: Experience across multiple accounting areas (AP, GL, journal entries, reconciliations), professional services or technology industry experience, exposure to multi-entity environments, ERP implementation experience, or progress toward a CPA designation.
