The Tone:
This is an internship at Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC, located in Charleston, SC. Mercedes-Benz Vans is a key part of the Daimler Group, manufacturing Sprinter and Metris vans for the U.S. and Canadian markets, including the new eSprinter model. This role offers students real-world experience in an accounting and finance capacity, supporting the operations of a significant manufacturing plant. The intern will gain insight into factory planning and engineering processes within a global automotive brand.

• Mission: Assist Mercedes-Benz Vans in managing the financial complexities of its growing U.S. van production plant through internal controls, financial support, and special projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Internal Controls: Implement and verify internal financial controls for the organization.
• Financial Support: Provide assistance for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations.
• Reporting: Aid in the creation and preparation of financial presentations.
• Payment Processing: Support the payment processing team in their daily operations.
• Special Projects: Complete various special accounting and finance projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or having graduated within the past 12 months. This is an entry-level position focused on providing educational experience.
• Experience: No specific professional experience is required beyond academic qualifications, as this role is designed for students seeking real-world exposure.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, keen attention to detail, the ability to multi-task effectively, and excellent communication skills.
• Bonus: An interest in learning or improving German language skills and engaging in cultural exchange with German interns. Candidates should also be eager, driven, focused, and self-motivated individuals interested in adding value within a growing organization.
