Summer 2027 Corporate Intern: Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP) | Walmart

The Tone:
This is a full-time, 10-week summer internship located in Bentonville, AR. Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, offers endless opportunities to jumpstart a post-college career. This highly developmental internship has the opportunity to result in a full-time position in a rigorous two-year rotational program upon graduation. The program is designed to launch careers in an accelerated development path, placing participants on a fast track within the company.

• Team: Accounting & Finance Development Program (AFDP) within Commercial Finance, Controllership, or Audit teams
• Mission: Work on challenging, strategically relevant projects that drive the business forward and create value for customers, while gaining broad finance and/or accounting experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Strategic Projects: Work on challenging, strategically relevant projects that drive the business forward and create value for customers.
• Integrate into Teams: Immerse directly into the regular activities of Commercial Finance, Controllership, or Audit teams, supporting areas like Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and FP&A.
• Lead Specific Initiatives: Take ownership of a project while collaborating within a dynamic team environment.
• Communicate Findings: Present project outcomes and insights to executive leadership.
• Enhance Professional Capabilities: Participate in case study workshops/competitions and benefit from leadership development, professional mentorship, and technical training.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Students pursuing a BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business, Strategy, or other business-related fields.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required; however, candidates should be graduating in December 2027 or May 2028 and demonstrate leadership potential.
• Skills: Critical thinking, business acumen, project ownership, presentation skills, and the ability to learn and apply new technical knowledge.
• Bonus: A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred, and a successful candidate will not require sponsorship from Walmart for authorization to work now or in the future.
