Data Scientist Lead-Vice President | JPMorgan Chase

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Data Scientist Lead who enjoys tackling ambiguous problems, building strong measurement frameworks, and using modern analytics and AI to create executive-ready insights. This role is crucial for partnering with business stakeholders to design and deliver analytics that senior leaders can act on, turning complex data into clear, confident decisions and driving meaningful business impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Partnership & Strategy: Build strong relationships with Product Managers and functional partners, including Operations, Risk, Controls, Finance, and Tech, operating as a trusted analytics partner to Lending Strategy and Product leaders.
• End-to-End Analysis: Own the development and execution of analyses and reporting from problem framing, data sourcing, analysis/modeling, insights, through to stakeholder review, including running deep-dive analyses and delivering benchmarking and reporting.
• Executive Communication: Translate complex findings into clear, non-technical summaries and actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders, thinking from a business standpoint and connecting the “why” to the data, assumptions, and trade-offs, enabling confident decisions.
• Measurement & Governance: Define and maintain KPI logic and documentation to support auditability and consistent measurement, establishing repeatable KPI and reporting frameworks with strong documentation and controls, while maintaining strong data quality and governance.
• Analytical Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve measurement, automation, and analytical workflows, including through AI-assisted approaches where appropriate, helping build scalable analytical solutions that improve how performance is monitored and support customers and bankers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics roles, effectively working cross-functionally in a dynamic product environment, aligning stakeholders, and driving decisions. This includes hands-on experience across data platforms, both on-prem (Teradata/Oracle) and cloud (AWS/Snowflake).
• Skills: Strong skills in SQL and modern analytics programming (Python/R); proficiency in statistical analysis and product/customer analytics methods; ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches with executive-ready storytelling; competent using AI tools responsibly.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Business Banking lending products and processes; experience with experimentation, forecasting, segmentation, or predictive modeling in a product setting; experience working in a regulated environment with risk and controls expectations.
