Accounting Professional | GFF Design

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at GFF Design, located in Dallas, TX. GFF Design is an award-winning multi-disciplinary design firm, recognized nationally for Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning with a legacy of excellence since 1982. This role is a foundational position within the finance team, offering the opportunity to build broad, full-cycle accounting experience. It is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations as the firm continues to grow.

• Mission: Owns the core responsibilities of month-end close, general ledger, project accounting, and billing support to ensure accurate financial operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Support: Support monthly and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Ledger Management: Maintain general ledger accuracy and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Project Accounting: Handle project accounting within Unanet, covering project setup, labor and consultant cost tracking, and closeout.
• Billing Assistance: Assist with Work In Progress (WIP) tracking and the client billing cycle.
• Compliance Reporting: Prepare 1099 filings, property tax reports, and help assemble the tax package for the external CPA.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience, suitable for recent graduates and those early in their career.
• Experience: A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and the basics of month-end close. Internship or early professional accounting experience is a plus.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, comfort learning new systems, attention to detail, organization, and clear communication. Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
