Staff Accountant | CAROLINA PRG

The Tone:
This role is with a growing organization, partnered with Carolina PRG, to find a Staff Accountant. This organization is seeking an early-career accounting professional to join their dedicated accounting team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial part in supporting daily financial operations and building experience across a broad spectrum of accounting functions. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to the financial integrity of the company while developing a strong foundational understanding of accounting practices.

What You’ll Actually Do
Close Cycle Support: Contribute to the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities, ensuring all established processes are followed meticulously.
Reconciliation & Ledger Management: Perform thorough bank and other account reconciliations, accurately prepare necessary journal entries, and diligently maintain general ledger activity.
Discrepancy Resolution: Partner proactively with various teams across the organization to investigate, research, and effectively resolve any identified accounting discrepancies.
Reporting & Audit Assistance: Provide essential support for internal financial reporting requirements and actively assist in responding to external audit requests.
Policy & Process Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to established accounting policies, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), while also identifying opportunities for process improvements and overall efficiency gains.

The Must-Haves
Background: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a foundational understanding of accounting principles suitable for an early-career role.
Experience: Requires 1-3 years of direct accounting experience, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and comfortable navigation of various accounting systems.
Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles; exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment; strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
Bonus: Prior experience gained within a distribution, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is considered a significant advantage.
