Staff Accountant | Crestline Hotels & Resorts

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Crestline Hotels & Resorts, a hospitality management company overseeing a portfolio of hotels and resorts. This position is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our centralized accounting processes. The Staff Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and supports smooth accounting operations across our properties, contributing directly to the company’s financial health.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations Management: Balance, process, and post daily revenues for centralized hotels, maintain and post journal entries, and provide backup support for accounts payable functions.
• Account Reconciliation & Analysis: Perform weekly balancing and reconciliation of cash, all general ledger accounts, bank statements, and tax accounts to ensure financial data is accurate and readily available.
• Tax Compliance & Filing: Complete and file tax returns, including managing online payments and checks, and ensure all necessary documentation is obtained for tax exemptions across the hotel portfolio.
• Policy Adherence & Auditing: Collaborate with property teams, controllers, and auditors to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Crestline SOPs related to accounting, finance, and taxes, assisting with external audits as needed.
• Operational Support & Training: Monitor and coordinate the timely flow of financial information between corporate and hotels, resolving accounting process issues and training staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. A College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for accounting functions.
• Experience: While no specific years of experience are mandated, candidates should be prepared to handle detailed financial tasks and engage with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Skills: Strong computer literacy, particularly with leading software programs including Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with all levels of staff and external partners. Must possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and issues, alongside the ability to work effectively and independently.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the hospitality sector, specifically working with the unique financial structures of branded and independent hotels and resorts.
