What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepare various tax returns and tax extensions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission for clients.
• Information Management: Organize and maintain client tax information, supporting efficient workflow processes within the department.
• Compliance Support: Assist with responses to tax notices and aid in the preparation for tax examinations.
• Software Proficiency: Maintain a current working knowledge of the specific tax preparation software utilized within the office.
• Administrative Assistance: Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of the tax department.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be currently a junior or in the year prior to graduation, depending on whether they are in a 4-year or 5-year academic program. Additionally, applicants are required to have successfully completed at least one collegiate tax class, demonstrating foundational knowledge in the field. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 is also a mandatory academic qualification.
• Experience: This role requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Interns must have the flexibility to commit to a minimum of 25 hours of work each week, adapting to the demands of the busy season from early January through April or May. Furthermore, the ability to work weekends as needed is an essential requirement to support peak operational periods.
• Skills: The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and information efficiently.
