The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role at Sherwin-Williams, located in Denver, CO, scheduled for 44 hours per week including potential evenings and weekends. What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Completion: Successfully complete a comprehensive and structured training program, including formal discussions for objective and development reviews, designed to prepare you for a Store Management role within 18-24 months.
• Sales & Market Share: Actively engage in growing the company’s market share by selling high-quality products to large commercial users, such as painting contractors and manufacturers, and partnering with the Store Manager to make outside sales calls.
• Customer Service Excellence: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service, building positive relationships with both wholesale and retail customers, and offering effective product recommendations based on acquired knowledge.
• Store Operations & Strategy: Learn and support all store operations, internal strategy, and financial aspects, including maintaining outstanding store condition, visual merchandising standards, and completing necessary store administration.
• Leadership Development: Collaborate with store management to provide leadership and insight into business development, support employee training and performance management, and ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree obtained by the program start, foundational for an entry-level management and sales career.
• Experience: Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience in retail, sales, customer service, or a leadership role supervising others or leading teams.
• Skills: Possess a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License, necessary for performing job duties like outside sales calls.
• Bonus: Prior work experience selling paint or related products, experience using timekeeping and/or CRM systems, previous experience in a team-oriented setting, willingness to relocate for future job opportunities, or the ability to communicate in more than one language, especially Spanish.
