The Tone:
This role at Company offers a 3/2 hybrid schedule, seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance and accounting team. The Staff Accountant position is central to maintaining precise financial records and supporting critical accounting processes that underpin the organization’s financial operations. This individual will be instrumental in executing monthly close procedures, ensuring strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and contributing directly to the accurate preparation of financial reports, thereby bolstering the overall financial integrity and transparency of the company.

• Mission: To manage and execute key accounting functions, including journal entries and reconciliations, while supporting the comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ultimately ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the reliability of financial reporting for the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Transactions: Prepare and accurately post a variety of monthly journal entries, including accruals and necessary adjustments, to ensure financial records reflect all business activities.
• Reconcile Accounts: Perform thorough reconciliations of bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Support Closing Activities: Actively assist in the critical month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, contributing to timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage Fixed Assets: Maintain precise fixed asset records, calculate depreciation schedules, and oversee all related accounting entries to ensure asset values are correctly represented.
• Assist with Audits: Provide essential support for external audits by preparing required schedules, gathering documentation, and responding effectively to auditor requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating an early career understanding of core accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year of hands-on accounting experience, with practical exposure to various ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Skills: Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and robust data analysis capabilities, coupled with excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience gained within a public accounting firm is considered a significant advantage.
