Operations Manager Trainee | WM

The Tone:
This is a full-time training program at WM, located in Clearwater, FL for a 5-month period, with potential relocation within the West Coast and Panhandle market area upon completion. WM is a leading environmental solutions company dedicated to creating a sustainable tomorrow. This role is a direct path into leadership, designed to cultivate future Operations Managers who will lead frontline teams, enhance operational efficiency, ensure safety, and drive customer satisfaction.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Clearwater, FL (with potential relocation)
• Pay: $63000–$66000 yearly
• Team: Develops into a role managing frontline employees; collaborates with various frontline managers.
• Mission: To prepare individuals to effectively lead frontline operations, optimize efficiency, ensure safety, and improve customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage with frontline employees to provide consistent touchpoints and support.
• Partner with Drivers and Technicians to foster their job-related skill development.
• Successfully complete the Operations Manager Trainee curriculum and all assigned training modules.
• Collaborate with various frontline managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of daily business operations.
• Develop deep knowledge of safety programs (DOT & OSHA), operational business processes, and performance management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma/GED (accredited) combined with two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience (if a degree is not present), plus a valid driver’s license and clean driving record upon hire and throughout employment.
• Skills: Ability to lead teams, improve operational efficiency, support safety programs, and drive customer satisfaction; knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety, operational processes, performance management, dispatch & routing, and fleet maintenance.
