Program Finance Intern | L3Harris Technologies

The Tone:
This is an internship at L3Harris Technologies, located in Alpharetta, GA. As a Program Finance Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of critical defense programs, contributing to the financial health and success of the company’s mission-critical objectives.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: 9/80 (Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off)
• Location: In-person, Alpharetta, GA

• Mission: Support the financial functions of business acquisition processes and program execution, ensuring accurate billing and financial reconciliation for defense projects.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Management: Manage the financial functions associated with the business acquisition process (proposals) and the program execution process (programs).
• Invoicing: Set up, validate, and generate complex invoices for various customers, ensuring timely processing per contract terms and conditions.
• Customer Relations: Serve as a daily point of contact for customer interface and provide billing guidance to Contracts and Program Finance teams.
• Reconciliation & Audits: Perform required invoice and account receivable reconciliations to ensure billing accuracy, and support internal and external audits.
• Process Improvement: Support the cash application process through research and reconciliation, and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.
• Skills:
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to perform invoice and account receivable reconciliations.
• Capability to manage financial functions for business acquisition and program execution.
• Bonus:
• Knowledge of cost/schedule development, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, financial modeling, corporate forecasting, and/or business acquisitions.
• Familiarity with Contract Compliance and Negotiation.
• Experience with customer/management reporting.
