Staff Accountant | Speed Commerce
The Tone:
This is an exempt, full-time position located at Speed Commerce in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the company’s precise fiscal records and ensuring all financial transactions align with generally accepted accounting principles. This role is vital for providing critical financial insights, analyzing profits, trends, and costs, and ensuring budget compliance, directly supporting senior management’s strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and organizational skills to contribute effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Mission: To accurately maintain the company’s fiscal records, ensure financial transaction compliance with GAAP, and analyze financial performance for senior management.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Participate in all facets of accounting operations, managing general ledger entries, overseeing receivables, and processing payables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing the company’s financial outcomes, focusing on profits, identifying trends, monitoring costs, and confirming adherence to established budgets, then reporting findings to senior management.
• Policy & Compliance Management: Maintain and update all essential accounting policies and systems, including the general ledger and financial reporting frameworks, while strictly adhering to generally accepted accounting principles and international transfer pricing regulations.
• Cash Management: Support the daily management of cash flow, which includes performing bank reconciliations, facilitating necessary transfers, and evaluating working capital requirements.
• Financial Planning & Audit Support: Assist the Chief Financial Officer with financial planning and projections, and support the coordination, preparation, and review of quarterly/annual reports, tax returns, and year-end audits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field is required; candidates in their final year of their degree are welcome to apply. Possess a high level of technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), comprehensive financial reporting and analysis techniques, alongside an understanding of cash management and asset capitalization processes.
• Experience: This role is suitable for early career professionals seeking to apply their academic knowledge in a practical business environment. While no specific years of prior experience are mandated, a readiness to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential, as is a current US work authorization.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical capabilities to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and design efficient workflows. Strong problem-solving abilities are critical for identifying issues, developing alternative solutions, and using sound reason. Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary for clear reporting, persuasive speaking, and collaborating with various functional areas of the business. Additionally, the ability to manage projects, build knowledge continuously, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making will contribute to success.
