The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BNP Paribas, located in Portugal with flexible remote working options. BNP Paribas is a European leader in banking and financial services, structured around Corporate & Institutional Banking, Commercial, Personal Banking & Services, and Investment & Protection Services. This role is crucial for defining, delivering, and continuously evolving strategic business applications and referential platforms, enhancing data accessibility and real-time availability across systems. The IT Product Owner will drive the evolution of third-party data ecosystems, contributing to scalable and business-value-driven solutions for the organization’s core processes and data domains.

• Team: Information Technology Transversal & Functions (ITTF) is part of the Information Technology Group (ITG) organization, with threefold sponsorship by ITG, Finance, and RISK.
• Mission: Accountable for defining, delivering, and continuously evolving strategic business applications and referential platforms to enhance data accessibility and real-time availability across systems.
• Tech Stack: Azure, AWS, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Data virtualization, Application Programming Interfaces (API).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Product Strategy & Vision: Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and architectural standards.
• Requirement Analysis & Backlog Management: Design, understand, and analyze business needs, translating them into detailed requirements, and manage and prioritize the Product Backlog based on business value.
• End-to-End Delivery Leadership: Lead the delivery of new applications and referential systems from ideation to production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and driving product governance.
• Performance & Adoption Monitoring: Monitor delivery progress, product adoption, and business outcomes using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring continuous evolution and value creation.
• Organizational Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a senior reference, providing direction to multidisciplinary teams, mentoring other Product Owners, and contributing to product management best practices across the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Management. This is a senior leadership role.
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience as a Product Owner or similar role, with professional experience delivering Master Data Management (MDM), referential applications, data governance, and data modelling solutions. Strong experience managing product roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and end-to-end delivery in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of Azure and/or AWS, Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development pipelines, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and deployment processes. Knowledge of IT governance, security, risk management, KPIs, and delivery performance management within large enterprise environments. Strong accountability, decision-making skills, and focus on delivering outcomes.
• Bonus: Ability to influence, negotiate, and align business and IT stakeholders. Ability to balance business priorities, product vision, and technology decisions. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Strong communication skills with the ability to drive alignment and foster effective cross-functional teamwork.
