What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Recording: Accurately post journal entries and meticulously maintain comprehensive financial records to ensure data integrity across all accounts.
• Account Management: Actively support the team in reconciling various accounts and assist in the efficient management of both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Reporting & Software Use: Contribute to the preparation of essential financial statements, produce standard financial reports, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded using the appropriate accounting software.
• Operational Support: Provide critical support for month-end and year-end close processes, helping to streamline financial cycles and meet deadlines.
• Information Sharing: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide clear, understandable financial information that supports informed decision-making across the company.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is ideal for an early career professional who possesses a strong foundational knowledge of Finance and Financial Statements. A relevant education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with an associate or bachelor’s degree being preferred to demonstrate a solid understanding of core principles.
• Experience: Demonstrated practical experience in the use of Accounting Software and related tools is essential for accurately recording, tracking, and reporting financial data. Proficiency in general accounting practices, including the critical tasks of account reconciliations and effective ledger management, is also required.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical skills to effectively review financial data, identify variances, and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes. Exhibit a detail-oriented approach coupled with robust organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bonus: Prior experience working within a small business environment would be a valuable asset to this role.
