Bookkeeper | Productions Unlimited, Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time non-exempt position at Productions Unlimited, Inc. The company’s core operations revolve around construction contracts, demanding meticulous and precise financial management to ensure project success and compliance. This Bookkeeper role is foundational to the daily financial heartbeat of the organization, responsible for the heavy volume of transactional data that underlies all business operations. The individual in this position ensures the accurate processing of invoices, proper cost coding, timely payroll, and diligent reconciliation of financial accounts, directly supporting the Controller and President in maintaining a clear and truthful financial picture for the company. The accuracy and organization provided by this role are vital for business decisions and overall operational stability.

• Mission: To accurately manage the company’s daily transactional financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reconciliation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable Management: Take ownership of the accounts receivable process by issuing client invoices promptly, tracking orders to ensure all services are billed, and proactively pursuing past-due payments to maintain healthy cash flow for the company.
• Accounts Payable Processing: Systematically enter all vendor invoices, meticulously assign costs to the appropriate customers or specific job numbers, and ensure timely payment of obligations.
• Financial Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform comprehensive reconciliations of all employee credit card receipts against the monthly credit card statements and assist with the preparation and reporting of monthly sales tax.
• Payroll and Job Costing: Prepare and submit payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring that all employee hours are correctly assigned to the relevant jobs for precise project costing.
• Contract Financial Tracking & Compliance: Monitor and track the financial performance of ongoing construction contracts, and provide support for insurance and other compliance-related issues pertinent to these contracts.
The Must-Haves
• Background & Foundation: An early-career professional with a solid foundational understanding of bookkeeping principles, eager to manage high volumes of transactional detail accurately.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in using QuickBooks software is essential for this role.
• Core Competencies: Possess excellent attention to detail, highly organized work habits, punctuality, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy in daily tasks. Effective and polite communication skills for interacting with both clients and internal staff are also required, alongside an unwavering commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and accountability.
• Preferred Qualification: Previous professional experience in a bookkeeping capacity is a distinct advantage.
