The Tone:
This is an early career Consulting Analyst role at Guidehouse, open to students graduating by Summer 2027. Guidehouse’s State and Local Government practice collaborates with states, counties, cities, non-profit, and multi-lateral clients to address their most complex business and technology challenges. This role is fundamental to delivering high-impact solutions that translate strategic initiatives into concrete actions for government organizations. Analysts contribute directly to improving public services and operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Service: Serve state, county, city, non-profit, and multi-lateral clients across areas such as economic development, sustainability, disaster recovery, and organizational strategy.
• Solution Delivery: Deliver compelling, high-impact solutions to clients’ toughest business and technology problems within the public sector.
• Strategy Implementation: Translate high-level strategies into actionable plans and tangible results for government organizations.
• Project Definition: Conduct baseline assessments and build future state visions to guide client projects.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop implementation plans, manage diverse stakeholders, and communicate effectively with varying audiences throughout project lifecycles.

• Background: Early career professional holding an undergraduate degree, currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program through Fall 2026, and graduating by Summer 2027.
• Experience: Minimum of 0 years of professional experience. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country, as no current or future sponsorship is available for this position.
• Skills: No specific hard technical or domain skills are explicitly required; general analytical aptitude is expected.
• Bonus: Demonstrates knowledge of and passion for improving state and local government through academic coursework and project work. Preferred degree programs include business, public policy, urban planning, economics, engineering, math, computer science, and environmental science/studies. Exhibits proven success and thorough skills in defining and leading client work, including conducting assessments, building future state visions, developing implementation plans, managing multiple stakeholders, and communicating effectively. Possesses proven success and thorough knowledge of key facets of state and local government, such as sustainability, urban planning, education, housing, transportation, justice, and/or administration. Demonstrates proven success and thorough knowledge of core management consulting skills including project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management.
