Reconciliation Analyst | Clearwater Analytics

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Clearwater Analytics. The company builds an advanced web-based system designed for comparing investment portfolio data from external sources. In this role, the Reconciliation Analyst is crucial for guaranteeing the prompt and precise delivery of comprehensive daily portfolio status updates to clients. This position plays a key part in maintaining data integrity and ensuring client satisfaction through accurate reporting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Review & Update: Meet daily deadlines for reviewing and updating investment reporting data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate and address identified issues within the reconciliation system through systematic problem-solving, seeking support and guidance from mentors and department experts as needed.
• Relationship Management: Create and maintain valuable professional relationships with external data providers, internal clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate data exchange and issue resolution.
• Process Improvement: Demonstrate curiosity regarding product innovation opportunities and contribute to the refinement of internal tools and processes.
• Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with both internal and external parties to submit inquiries, provide timely updates on relevant issues, and ensure clear understanding of portfolio status.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business-related field such as accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or Sciences, or another related analytical discipline. This foundational education should provide a basic understanding of core investment, financial, and accounting concepts relevant to portfolio reconciliation.
• Experience: Candidates should possess a basic understanding of standard security types commonly found in investment portfolios. Prior experience in securities or financial markets is preferred, offering practical exposure to relevant environments. Additionally, previous finance and/or accounting experience would be an advantage in applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong computer skills, including comprehensive proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. This role demands excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills to maintain accurate records. Candidates must exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with various stakeholders, alongside strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, and exceptional problem-solving capabilities to address complex reconciliation issues.
• Bonus: Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and/or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) will be considered an added advantage, aiding in compliance and financial reporting accuracy. Furthermore, advanced ability in Microsoft Excel, encompassing complex functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, and proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), is preferred for advanced data analysis and automation tasks.
