Accounts Receivable Representative I | UNFI

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at UNFI, located remotely. • Mission: This person ensures UNFI maintains and grows its financial health by accurately processing payments, managing customer accounts, and resolving billing issues to provide current financial statistics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoicing: Generate and distribute accurate invoices and statements to customers in a timely manner.
• Payment Processing: Record and reconcile incoming payments from checks, ACH, credit cards, and wire transfers, accurately applying them to the correct customer accounts.
• Collections: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and contact clients via email or phone to secure payment.
• Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or customer queries regarding their accounts.
• Account Reconciliation: Maintain and update files, ledger accounts, and customer records to ensure accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting, billing, or general office administration.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), familiarity with accounting software, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Good judgment is required for this position as direct supervision may not always be immediately available.
