Financial Analyst | Norsk Hydro
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Norsk Hydro, located in Elkhart, IN, with support and travel to North Liberty, IN. Norsk Hydro’s Extrusions business is a global leader in aluminium extrusion, operating approximately 100 sites in 40 countries with 20,000 employees. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and providing essential financial analysis to ensure operational effectiveness and inform future leadership within the finance department.

• Team: Reports directly to the Controller.
• Mission: Responsible for the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation and reporting to support timely financial and operational data for the organization.
• Tech Stack: Oracle System, SAP, S/4 HANA
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Compile accurate data for journal entries and support the monthly closing cycles to ensure timely reporting.
• Cost Management: Account for accurate standard costs, conduct annual reviews, and perform inventory costing and absorption testing.
• Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis support, including identifying cost control opportunities and managing working capital effectively.
• Planning & Budgeting: Assist and support planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, including contributing to the creation of the annual business plan.
• Internal Controls: Review internal controls to determine their design and operating effectiveness, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in similar financial roles, preferably including experience in a Plant Operation environment.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent computer skills, understanding of standard costing principles and variance analysis, ability to perform inventory valuation, reconcile accounts, and analyze inventory movements, and experience with manufacturing KPIs.
• Bonus: Experience with Oracle System, proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, and experience with S/4 HANA.
