Project Accountant II | GFT

As a Project Accountant, you will be crucial in ensuring financial accuracy, client compliance, and timely invoicing for diverse projects, thereby supporting the firm’s operational integrity and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contract Interpretation: Read and interpret client contracts to ensure accurate project setup and adherence to corporate requirements.
• Project Governance: Review project setup documents, budgets, and revisions to confirm alignment with internal guidelines and revenue matrices.
• System Data Management: Enter and maintain new and revised project data, including budgets, work breakdown structures, and billing details, within the Project Accounting System.
• Financial Operations: Prepare and produce monthly client invoices, post to accounts receivable with necessary adjustments, and coordinate subconsultant invoice processing and payments.
• Financial Analysis & Audit: Conduct in-depth Work-in-Process and Project Analysis, perform Project Closeout Analysis, and support internal and external audits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience in project accounting.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant project accounting experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 4 years with an Associate’s degree, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat; ability to prepare advanced invoices using Project Accounting Systems, Excel, and Client Portals; working knowledge of project accounting software such as BST or Deltek; strong written, verbal, and organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
