Business Development Representative | Morning Consult
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Morning Consult, located in Washington, DC. Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company that uses proprietary high-frequency data and applied artificial intelligence to help leaders make smarter, faster, better decisions. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of prospecting and supporting deals for SaaS offerings, generating revenue through pipeline development, and fostering relationships. Your work will analyze customer needs to uncover business challenges, strengthen client pipelines, and be instrumental in shaping the business development strategy, with opportunities to create best practices for the team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Generation: Develop and execute a lead generation plan to meet or exceed quota targets, generating new business pipeline through outbound prospecting and managing inbound leads.
• Pipeline Cultivation: Cultivate pipeline by acting on field marketing leads, conducting strategic outbound campaigns, nurturing early-stage opportunities, and gaining interest through outbound cold calling.
• Client Partnership: Partner closely with Account Executives to move qualified prospects through the sales cycle, discover business initiatives, and advocate for clients internally.
• Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to prioritize efforts, refine selling strategies, and share results to plan next steps.
• Goal Achievement: Exceed weekly and monthly goals for meetings, pipeline development, and overall activity while capturing accurate information in sales tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Communications, Business, or a similar field is preferred, along with an excellent academic record.
• Experience: Prior sales or marketing internship experience is preferred, coupled with a strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting. Experience in prospecting, account planning, and cold calling new and existing accounts is preferred.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders, demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a professional environment, and the ability to anticipate and prepare for objections with exemplary problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
