The Tone:
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire Accounting Assistant role located fully onsite in Richmond, VA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Finance Department operations: Provide comprehensive administrative and operational assistance to ensure the smooth functioning of the Finance Department.
• Manage financial transactions: Actively assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, and handle routine accounting functions including precise reconciliations and data entry.
• Maintain records and documentation: Keep accurate and confidential financial records and departmental documentation organized, ensuring compliance and easy retrieval.
• Prepare financial reports: Compile, prepare, and format various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentation materials for management review.
• Assist with broader departmental needs: Support General Ledger activities, contribute to Finance Department projects and process improvements, provide administrative support to Human Resources as needed, and offer occasional operational assistance like shipping or packaging products.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Knowledge of core accounting, finance, or business administration principles.
• Experience: 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy; professional demeanor, ability to maintain confidentiality, self-motivation, dependability, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
• Bonus: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
